KINGSPORT - Carl V. Arndt, 85, formerly of Mount Carmel, TN went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning (January 6, 2007) at Brookhaven Manor.

He was born in Dorr, Michigan and had lived in this area for the past 13 years. Carl served during World War II with the United States Army. He retired from General Motors with over 26 years of service. Mr. Arndt was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Jennison, Michigan. He was a proud supporter of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars along with helping disabled veterans.

His loving wife, Mae Arndt, preceded him in death in 2005.

He iis survived by his daughter, Elaine Taylor (Sevierville, TN); his son, Ronald Arndt & his wife, Connie (Kingsport); 6 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren; his brothers, Walter Arndt & his wife, Carolyn (Waylin, Michigan) & Ray Arndt & his wife, Phyllis (Dorr, Michigan) along with several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be fro 6-8 PM Sunday, December 7, 2007 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the son, Ronald Arndt, 1033 Allendale Circle, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday (January 8, 2007) in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Cecil Sturgill & Dr. Millard Porter officiating.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the Hawkins County Color Guard & the TN Army National Guard at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ronald Arndt, Richard Blevins, Tim Cox, Chris Taylor, Josh Taylor & Rodney Bunch.

A special thank-you to the entire staff of Brookhaven Manor for their special care & attention and a sincere thank-you to Adventa Hospice.
