My grandfather, married to Elizabeth (Lizzie) Werdig, buried side by side, had 2 children, my father George Lorentz Brown and Alice Theresa Brown~My grandfather was Scots/Irish his ggg grandfather and brother came from Galaway, Scotland. His grandmother was from Galway, Ireland, her name was Saidey (Sarah) Brownlee, also part of the Greene's from the same Village, Sarah married Samuel Brown, Alberts Dad. Alberts wife was German, Lizzies grandfather was from Bremen, Germany, John Conrad Werdig, his son Hermann Werdig married Susie Thomas, they had several children one being Alberts wife, My Grand father was a real personality, when he felt things were not being run as they should be here in America he would call the White House (he always spoke to an Aid) he would keep the Aid on the phone for hours at a time fussing at the sad state of a affairs about the War and other issues of the day~ My Dad would hear him and go hang up the phone. I think in those days life was simpler, though not without the same problems we have today. ~Albert was a pipe fitter for the US Government building ships his entire life, he worked until age 72 for the US Government retired, lived to age 74, the last five years of his life he was mostly bed ridden, due to bones problems his legs and damage to his knees from years of bending and kneeling in the ships. Albert smoked a pipe, cherry blend tobacco his entire life! I will also note his father Samuel Brown also worked for the US Government Naval ship yards as a welder/fitter until age 73 never retired~
