She was born on March 22, 1954 in Winchester to Robert and Charlotte (Forrest) Wooters. She attended Winchester Community High School and worked in the Dietary Department at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital for 17 years. Doris belonged to the Ridgeville American Legion. She loved to play bingo and read books.
Survivors include three children, Brad (wife Angie) Canter of Fort Wayne; Brian Canter of Ridgeville and Beverly (husband Joe) Jenkins of Ridgeville; five grandchildren, Autumn and Logan Jenkins; Ryan, Nick, and Abigail Canter; her parents, two sisters, Karen Cox and Roberta (husband Donald) Whyde; a brother, Rick Wooters; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferey "Jeff" Canter and a son, Robert Canter, and Janice Marlene (Huston) Wooters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Charlie Stalker officiating. Burial will follow in Lawndale Cemetery, east of Ridgeville.
Friends and relatives may call from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
