Nathaniel Finch Bell was a farmer and Methodist minister in Huron County, Ohio. A son of Hannah (née Finch) and John Bell, senior, he was named after his mother's grandfather and uncle, and was born in Blooming Grove Township, Richland County, Ohio.

Nathaniel F. Bell and Nancy A. Reynolds were married about 1838; a marriage record has not been found. The couple had six children.

Nathaniel F. Bell and Miss Elizbeth Newman were married on 28 September 1864 in Richland County, Ohio.

He died in Huron County's Ripley Township.

"John Bell, eldest son of Robert Bell...married Hannah Finch...In Bloominggrove township three children were added to the family, name: Nathaniel, a Methodist preacher and farmer of Ripley township, Huron county, deceased; Stephen, who died in the same township when twenty-five years old; and Joseph, deceased in infancy." "Among the residents of Ripley township, who are seeking their fortunes along the line of agricultural pursuits, is William R. Bell, one of Ohio's native sons, his birth occurring in Richland county on the 24th of January, 1841. His parents were Nathaniel and Nancy A. (Reynolds) Bell, of whom the former was a minister of the Methodist church and a son of John and Hannah (Finch) Bell, who were also the parents of Robert, Jesse, John, Enoch, David, Joseph and Stephen. The mother was a daughter of William Reynolds and a sister of Rachel, Sarah, Benjamin, William, John, Shadrick and George. In the family of Nathaniel Bell and his wife were: Jesse, William, John, Harriet, Hannah and Jane." Bio. of William R. Bell in: A. J. "On the 12th of October, 1864, Mr. Trembley was united in marriage to Miss Harriett Bell, who was born on the 16th of March, 1843, her parents being Nathaniel and Nancy Ann (Reynolds) Bell, both of whom were natives of Richland county, Ohio.
