Carrie Melissa Wiles, a daughter of Elizabeth Ann (née Nelson) and Henry George Wiles, was born 30 May 1861 in Jefferson, Frederick County, Maryland.

Carrie Melissa Wiles and Jacob Bodmer, junior, were married on 20 January 1887 at St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church in Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland.

"Mrs. Carrie M. Bodmer, widow of Jacob Bodmer, Poolesville, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frederick Campbell, 3923 Twenty-eighth street, Mt. Rainier, Wednesday night at 9 o'clock, aged 77 years, 10 months, 2 days. The following children survive: Mrs. George Chiswell, Mrs. Frederick Campbell and George Bodmer, Mt. Rainer, Roy Bodmer, Beallsville; Rozier Bodmer, Poolesville; Mrs. Stockton Myrley, Montgomery, W. Va. Funeral Saturday from the home of Mrs. Campbell at 12 o'clock noon, with services in the Poolesville Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock. Interment Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville. William B.
