Francis J. Ditter and his partner, James Cook, operated Ditter & Cook, a combined cabinet making shop and undertaker's shop in Little Rock, Arkansas, after the Civil War. He was a German immigrant and a prominent Alderman and Mason. He died unexpectedly September 13, 1870. His large granite marker still stands in Mount Holly Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas.
