Florence A. Adams passed away on December 2, 2007 in Little Rock, AR. She was 91. A private Memorial Service will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on Friday, January 4, 2008. Mrs. Adams was born May 13, 1916 to Lawrence and Pearl Raupp in East Aurora, NY. She moved to San Diego in 1936 where she met and married Edson Adams, a member of the U.S. Navy. She was a homemaker, and served as a school secretary for San Diego Unified School District until her retirement. She was very involved in church activities at East San Diego Christian Church and Christ Church Unity, El Cajon, where she enjoyed many warm, lifelong friendships. She was loved and admired by everyone who knew her for her gentle nature, kindness and grace. She loved being with her family, often camping in the Sierras and Cuyamaca mountains. She enjoyed reading on quiet afternoons as well as presiding over family gatherings at her home with her children and grandchildren, especially on holidays. She was a caring and gracious mother who was dearly loved by all her family. She will be missed. For the past thirteen years, she lived in Little Rock, AR with her son, Paul Adams, and his wife, Barbara. Mrs. Adams is survived by twin daughters, Carolyn Cappello and Rosamond Moranville; son, Paul Adams; sons-in-law, Louis Cappello and Eugene Moranville; daughter-in-law, Barbara Adams; brother, Donald Raupp; sisters-in-law, Ethel Raupp and Teresa Raupp; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death in 1989 by her husband Edson Adams, a U.S. Navy retiree and WWII veteran. She will be interred beside her husband.
