Son of Stephen Burnham and Mary Andrews, husband to Jemima Wyman. Colonel Joshua Burnham served in the Revolutionary War as a Private from New Hampshire (PNSR). He served on a committee to build a town pound 1797 (History of Milford, Ramsdell) Listed as a taxpayer in Milford, New Hampshire in 1830. He lived on the road to Lyndeborough. Colonel Joshua Burnham's epitaph:
