Ignatz was born at Treffelstein, Kreis Cham, Oberpfalz, Bayern, Germany, the son of Wolfgang Bindl and Walburga Hutter Bindl. On June 28, 1841, he married Katharina Rötzer at Biberbach, Kreis Cham, Bavaria, Germany. They had 12 children,
born in Biberbach, Treffelstein, and Schömersdorf.
Obituary: Ignace Bindl died at his home in Franklin on Saturday, August 20th, after an illness of two weeks, aged 82 years. He leaves six adult children, Michael Bindel of this town, Mrs. Valentine Celler of Ohio, Mrs. Alois Hutter of Mazomanie, Mrs. Alois Brickle of Plain, Joseph Bindl, who lives on the old homestead, and Mrs. John Lins of Bear Creek. Deceased was a native of Bavaria, and was born February 26th, 1816. Coming to this country in June, 1863, he purchased the Shumway farm, which was his home until his death. Mr. Bindl was always interested in the welfare of the community in which he lived, and was one of the founders of the Catholic church at Plain, from which church the funeral was held on Monday last.
