The former Margaret Lehner was born near Plain in Franklin Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Bartholomew Lehner and Frances Sturm Lehner.
Margaret Lehner was married to John Bindl on May 8, 1911, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Plain, Sauk County, Wisconsin, by Rev. George Pesch. A nephew of the groom, Anton "Tony" Bindl, was best man and the bride's sister Anna Lehner was bridesmaid.

From 1911 to 1951, they owned a farm west of Spring Green in Sauk County, Wisconsin. They had two daughters and six sons.
Margaret was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Spring Green and its women's group.
Margaret died at age 74 in a Muscoda nursing home. The funeral was held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic in Spring Green, Wisconsin.
