Mabel L. Allison
Mabel L. Allison, 94, a former Montgomery County resident, died Tuesday evening at the Rainbow Health Care Center in Bristow, Okla., where she had been making her home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale with the Rev. Reinhold Schmidt, interim pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Independence, officiating. Although the casket has been closed, friends my call to register at the Potts Chapel in Independence from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Friday. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's and Similar Diseases Association and may be left with the funeral home.
Mrs. Allison was born on Dec. 27, 1903, in Bourbon County to Fredrick L. and Rosa (Brillhart) Oxender. She grew up and attended rural schools in Montgomery County. For a time, she was employed at Electra Manufacturing Co. in Independence. On Aug 14, 1920, she married Conrad H. Allison. He died in 1977.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth E. Allison, Polk City, Fla; a sister, Bessie Luckey, Bristow, Okla; two stepgrandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
The family was to arrive late today and may be contacted at the Pres Corbitt residence, 407 Catalpa, Independence.
