Verma Baldwin, 1918-2004, Concordia
Verma Baldwin, 85, of Concordia, died Friday, July 2, 2004, at the Apple Ridge Care Center in Waverly.
She was born Aug. 2, 1918, in Watts, Okla., a daughter of Elias D. and Iva Lou Richey Yeager. On Feb. 2, 1958, she was married to William F. Baldwin, who died Sept. 16, 1994.
Mrs. Baldwin was a homemaker and retired factory worker and had lived in the Concordia area for the last 20 years. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, the St. John Lay Fellowship, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include one step-son, Edward Baldwin, of Concordia; three step-daughters, Patricia Dittmer, of Columbia, Kay Dittmer, of Emma, and Madge McClure Larrerty, of Centerville, Ohio; a sister, Ola Strickland, of Phoenix, Ariz.; 13 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by a brother, Garland Yeager, and two sisters, Vergie Clevenger and Velva Haynes.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John United Church of Christ in Emma, with the Rev. Jerry Basye officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Emma.
