Professional Baseball Player and Manager. For five seasons in the National Baseball League (MLB) as an amateur free agent he played for the Washington Senators (1913 to 1916, 1918) and the Philadelphia Athletics (1918). He made his MLB debut with the Senators on June 5, 1913, as an outfielder and his last appearance in the MLB was with the Athletics on September 2, 1918. He also played winter ball in the Cuban League from 1913 to 1925. While with the Cuban League he was a long-time manager and part-owner of the Havana Cubans. He posted a career batting average of .255, no home runs and 37 runs batted in all in 180 games. He was inducted into the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955.
