Mrs. Alice Abbott, Gold Star Mother, Dies of Pneumonia.

Mrs. Alice Abbott, one of Chickasaw County's Gold Star Mothers, died yesterday morning at her home near Wesley Chapel of pneumonia.
She would have reached her 79th birthday in a month.

A Native of the County, Mrs. Abbott was before her marriage Miss Alice Bishop, daughter of Pioneer Settlers.
When eighteen years of age she was married to Mr. Leroy Abbott. To this union several children were born. One of her sons, Grady, died while in the service during the World War of 1917.

In talking to friends of the news of his death, she said she worked all the harder, feeling that employment was the only panacea for grief.

She was the daughter of the old school, possessing the Faith of Abraham. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

The funeral will be held this afternoon from Wesley Chapel with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
The Rev. Mattox will officiate.

Mrs. Abbott leaves four daughters, Mrs. Luther Cole, of Houlka; Mrs. Clara Hill, of Cullman; Mrs. Bela Davis, of Clarksdale, and Mrs. Robert Neal, of Houston.
