Funeral services for Albert Anderson, Adams area farmer, were held from the Adams Funeral Home and the Little Cedar Lutheran Church, M.L. Witte, pastor, on Tuesday, January 25, 1955.
Albert Anderson, the son of Erick O. and Bertha Northness Anderson, was born on a farm near Stacyville, Iowa, on March 13, 1894. His parents were members of the Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church near Lyle, Minnesota, and it was in this church that he was baptized and confirmed.
He was united in marriage to Bernetta Hanson on August 30, 1922. They engaged in farming on the home farm from 1922 to 1943 at which time they moved to their present farm southwest of Adams. On December 14, 1944, they became members of the Little Cedar Lutheran Church of Adams.
Mr. Anderson has been in declining health for the last two years with prolonged hospitalization in Austin and Rochester. For the last several weeks he has been at his home, but on Thursday, January 20, he was taken back to St. Olaf Hospital in Austin where he passed away Friday evening, January 21st, at 11:15 o'clock at the age of 60 years, 10 months, 7 days.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Bernetta; two sons, John and David, at home; one daughter, Beverly of Mason City, Iowa; two sisters - Rhoda, Mrs. Orville Lastine, and Edna, Mrs. J.H. Taylor, both of Austin; and five brothers - Bernie and Allen of Albert Lea; Gilbert of Sargeant; Kenneth of Rose Creek; and Burton, of Austin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Oscar and Selmer.
Albert was a man of quiet disposition and was a loving husband and father. Burial was in the family lot of the Six Mile Grove Lutheran Cemetery near Lyle.
Music for the funeral services was furnished by Mrs. Ernest Anderson and Mrs. Nordeen Torgerson who sang, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," and "No Night There." Mrs. M.L. Witte was at the organ.
Pallbearers were Edwin N. Johnson, Gust Morstad, Vincent Mullenbach, Ben Sorenson, Ervin Stern, and Howard Thompson. The ladies of Mission Circle 3 of the Little Cedar Ladies' Aid served lunch at the family home to immediate relatives and friends.
