Roy Sherdian Freeman, 56, of Hooker died Wednesday morning July 5, 2000 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon.
The son of Wilburn and Viola Freeman, he was born Feb.26, 1944 at Porter moving to the panhandle area in 1985 from Wagoner. He had been a resident of Hooker for the past nine years.
He was united in marriage to Edna Marie Kiser on June 26, 1965 at Ontario, CA. He was a cowboy with Cattle Empire of Satana, KS and had a passion for horse trading.
His father, Wilburn, and three brothers, an infant, Kenneth and James Freeman preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Edna of Hooker; his mother, Viola Zahn of Lamar, Ark.; one daughter, Sherry and her husband, Raymond Winkler of Plains, KS; two sons, Roy Freeman and his wife, Stacie of Liberal, KS and Brian Freeman of Plains, KS; five grandchildren, David, Monte, Joshua and Sheldon Winkler and Alma Rae Freeman; six sisters, Alma Brooks of Victorville, CA, Pauline Forbes of Wagner, Wilma Pledger of Coweta, Ernestine McMullen of Tulsa, Brenda Ellis of Inola and Linda Cross of Lamar, Ark.; and two brothers, Samuel Freeman of Nowata and Floyd Freeman of Lamar, Ark.
Graveside funeral services were conducted Friday morning, July 7 from the Hooker Cemetery with his brother, Rev. Samuel Freeman of Nowata officiating.
