Garold D Armacost
No services will be held for Garold "Gary" D Armacost, 53 of Coos Bay at the family's request. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Coos Bay Chapel.
Gerold was born March 9, 1936 in North Bend Oregon, and died Dec 16, 1989 in Allegany of a heart attack while hunting.
Mr. Armacost was a lifetime resident of the Bay Area. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Armacost owned Gary Armacost building contractor. He married the former Carol Ann Frank on Aug 26, 1958, in Coos Bay.
He was a member of the BPO of Elks 1160. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, cars and building.
Viewing will be held until 8pm today.
Survivors include his wife Carol Armacost, of Coos Bay, daughters Julie Armacost of Coos Bay, Lori and Doug Tanner of North Bend, sisters Louise Williams of Coos Bay, and Mary Alice Kronenberg of Arizona, Uncles Joe, Philip and Fred Morrison, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his Aunt Bertha and Uncle Russell Morrison.
Gary was a great sportsmen. He loved hunting, fishing and cars. He was a wonderful craftsmen and carpenter by trade. Gary died when he had a heart attack, while hunting.
Gary served in the US Navy on a troopship during the Korean War. Enlisted: 17 Aug 1954- released: 18 Aug 1958.
