Mrs. Adams, Bandmaster's Widow, Dies
Mrs. Mabel L. Adams, 86, a Seattle resident since 1914, died yesterday in a nursing home. She was the widow of Albert P. Adams, a bandmaster and University of Washington band music instructor.
Funeral services will be at 4 o'clock Friday in the Adams Forkner chapel. Cremation will follow.
Born in Wausau, Wis., Mrs. Adams taught in Thorpe and Greenwood, Wis., when she was a young woman. She was married March 31, 1895, in Greenwood. Later she and her husband lived in Waukesha and Delafield, Wis., before coming here. Mr. Adams conducted the Adams Band, which played in Seattle parks many years. He died in May.
Mrs. Adams was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Survivors are two sons. Marion E., Seattle, and Spencer T. Adams, Port Angeles; two daughters. Mrs. John A. Rowlands, 2221 Federal Av. with whom she formerly lived, and Mrs. A. Stewart White, Chehalis; a sister, Mrs. F. W. Anderson, Chippewa Falls, Wis.; nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
