Scott Barry Anderson was born November 11, 1986, in Idaho Falls, the son of Anthony and Judy Howell Anderson. He died July 23, 2002, in Salt Lake City, where he had been having a check-up at the Primary Children' s Hospital. Scott had had a heart problem and other problems since birth and was flown to the Primary Children' s Hospital within hours of his birth. The doctor told his parents to take him home and love him, and if he was still alive in 30 days to bring him back. They were blessed to be able to love him for over 15 years and will continue to love him as they remember his goodness, the way he handled his illness, and his love for his friends and family.

He recently completed the eighth grade at Sandcreek Middle School. He was loved by his teachers and many special people, both at school and church. His broad smile could light up a room and he radiated love to everyone that came in contact with him. One of his last acts was to create a design on the computer of an elephant dressed as a fireman, which he planned to make while in Salt Lake. His parents and Lori followed his design and made his elephant for him as a gift from his Uncle Kelly, Aunt Cindy, and cousins, Justin and Amy.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and at the time of his death he held the office of a teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood. He was a quiet and very spiritual young man.

Scott is survived by his parents, Anthony and Judy Anderson of Idaho Falls; a brother, Shawn (Jennifer) Anderson; nieces, Darian and Jaiden of Scottsdale, Arizona; a sister, Lori Anderson of Idaho Falls; grandparents, Dean and Helen Howell of Idaho Falls; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Katherine Anderson, and an uncle, Barry Howell.

Funeral services for Scott will be Friday, July 26, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Lincoln LDS Stake Center, 2545 Mesa in Idaho Falls, with Bishop Mark Arenaz officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls, and on Friday morning at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery, high on a hill that he now has the strength to climb. Family Tribute published in the Post Register, Idaho Falls ID, 25 July 2002
