Elvira Ann McWilliams Means was the daughter of David M. McWilliams and Anna Ellison Allison. She married James Cravens Means on February 21, 1833 in Lexington, Lafayette County, Missouri. She and James Cravens had 10 children.

Her daughter Juliet Means Haymore is buried in Yates Cemetery as well.
