Marshall County News November 25, 1921 John A. Farrell Dead
John A. Farrell died at his home in this city at 4:45 o'clock Tuesday morning, November 22, age 61 years and 29 days. Mr. Farrell had been in poor health for about eleven months with a complication of heart and lung trouble. Funeral services will be held at St. Gregory's church Friday morning at 9 o'clock, conducted by Rev August Redeker, and interment will be in the Catholic cemetery at Lillis.
John A. Farrell was born at Chillicothe, Mo., October 23, 1860. When he was but a year old the family moved to Kansas located near Frankfort. He moved to Marysville in 1917. He was married in 1887 to Miss Anna Burke, who died August 20, 1907. To them were born six daughters and four sons. One son and daughter died in infancy. The surviving children are Mrs. T. A. Mitchell, Axtell; Thomas, Frances, James, Edward, Mrs. Roy Maldoon and Mrs. George Bauman, all of Marysville. One sister, Mrs. John Blair of Tulsa, Okla., and one brother, W.P. Farrell of Topeka, and six grandchildren also survive him.
After coming to Marysville Mr. Farrell was engaged in the real estate business. He was a good business man and had the respect and confidence of all. He was a member of the Catholic church and Knights of Columbus lodge.
The relatives have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
