Deaths and funerals
Omer L. Abrams
The funeral for Omer L. Abrams, 66, Salina RFD 1, will be at 2 pm Thursday at the Ryan mortuary, the Rev. F. W. Prather officiating.
Mr. Abrams died Sunday at the Veteran's administration hospital in Topeka.
He was born Sept. 19, 1907, at Camden, Mo., and spent most of his life in the Salina area. He had lived in the Hedville area the past 28 years. He was a truck driver and mechanic and had worked for Richardson Transfer and Storage Co. and Michelson Construction Co. He served with the Army's 745th tank batallion [sic] during World War 2. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving are the widow, Amber; a son, Harvey, Excelsior Springs, Mo,; a stepson, Robert Cotter, Taylor, Mich,; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Earlene Carpenter, 1007 N. 3rd; 4 brothers, Bill, 907 Spruce; Lloyd, Baldwin Park, Calif,; Arnold, St. Louis Mo.; and Arvel, Humphrey, Mo.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Minnie Reed, 1305 W. Ash, and Mrs. Hazel Cutsinger, Sugar Grove, Ill., and 17 grandchildren.
Burial will be in Gypsum Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary.
