ROY - Our loving Mother, Sister, Grandma and Friend passed away Sunday,September 4, 2005. Maria, 72, was surrounded by her loving family, the way she wanted.
She was born October 25, 1933 in McAllen, Texas to Isabel (father) and Leonor (mother) Barrera. On April 18, 1950 she married Filiberto C. Delgado and together they had five daughters and 10 sons. They moved to Clearfield, UT in 1958. Together they ran "Delgados Cafe. They later divorced.
Maria was re-married on October 25, 1977 to Jerry Aydelott. They spent every moment together until Jerry's passing in 1997, with his devoted wife by his side. In her youth Maria worked as a nursing assistant. Maria also took part in the start-up of the Head Start program in Ogden, UT. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her 15 children with unconditional love. Her "Famillia" was her life's work, her passion and she did it well.
She was a member of the Catholic Church. She loved fishing, bingo, dancing, cooking, collecting coins and most of all spending time with her children and their families. Maria is survived by the following children and their spouses: Dora of WA, Filiberto, Gilbert, David, Andy, Angel, Pedro, Maria Anna and Leonor of UT, Domingo of FL. And Yolanda, Linda, Rey, William and Francisco of TX; over 120 grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; sisters, Aida Valdez and Enelda Wallers of Las Vegas, NV, Minnie Obregon of CA, Deana Sharp of MS, Tina Bolden and her brother, Amado Barrera of TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Aydelott, her parents and her brother, Lazaro Barrera.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Aaron's Mortuary & Crematory, 1600 Washington Blvd. form 6-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 9, 2005 at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic
Church, 2100 South Chapel St, Layton.
Interment to follow at the Clearfield City Cemetery, 105 S. State Street in Clearfield. "Mom , from all of us, thank you for being everything to everyone. In our hearts, your legacy is forever. You will be missed."
