AXEL BLOOM OBITUARY FROM THE CHANUTE TRIBUNE
The funeral service for Axel T. Bloom, 74, who died Thursday afternoon at Autry Nursing Home, will be
held at 2 p. m. Monday in Roy S. Gibson Funeral Home, with the Rev. C. Edgar Rains, of United Brethren in Christ church, officiating. Interment will be in Swedish cemetery west of Savonburg.
Axel T. Bloom was born March 12, 1880, near Savonburg. He married Ethel J. Peterson Feb. 18, 1920, at Humboldt, and they began housekeeping on a farm near Humboldt. They later moved to Savonburg
vicinity, and came to Chanute about a year ago. He had been at the nursing home the past two weeks.
Survivors are his wife, 201 ½ S. Steuben; two sons and two daughter, George and Herbert Bloom, and
Hannah Bloom, all of Chanute, and Mrs. Ralph Brooks, Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren, Jane Bloom, Wesley Lynn Brooks and Harold Eugene Bloom, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Dickerson, Bell, Calif.
Last rites for Axel T. Bloom in Roy S. Gibson Funeral Home Monday afternoon were conducted by the
Rev. C. L. Dodds, of Fredonia United Brethren church, and the Rev. C. Edgar Rains, of Chanute UB
church. Mrs. Dodds and Mr. and Mrs. John Bodin, accompanied by Mrs. E. M. Alexander, sang " The OldRugged Cross," "Will the Circle be Unbroken?" and "Good Night and Good Morning." Flowers were
arranged by Mrs. Rains and Mrs. Ira Grogan. Bearers were Harry Lindberg, John Groves, Ralph Reinhardt, Earl Reinhardt, Earl Marlow an d Floyd Osborn. Burial was in Swedish cemetery west of Savonburg.
