BESSIE AMOS
FRAZIER, Mo. -- Bessie Giddens Amos, 87, Frazier, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 1989, at a health care center in Gower, Mo.
Mrs. Amos was born in Buchanan County, Mo., near Frazier where she attended school and grew up.
She was a longtime member of Frazier Baptist Church; charter member of No. 5 Extension Club and active in Frazier community 4-H Club.
On Aug. 24, 1920, she married Jake Amos. After their marriage they farmed in the Frazier community where they made their home. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1972.
Mrs. Amos was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Walker; a grandchild; and by a brother, Norman Giddens.
Surviving: a son, Delbert of Agency, Mo.; a daughter, Juanita Routh, Agency; a brother, Clyde Giddens of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Frazier Baptist Church, Frazier. Burial: Frazier, Mo. Cemetery. Visitation, 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, Mo.

Bessie Amos was born on August 7, 1902 to Ransom and Martha Jane (Ottinger) Giddens near Frazier, Missouri where she attended school and grew up. On August 24, 1920 she was united in marriage to Jake Amos. After their marriage they farmed in the Frazier community where they made their home.
Bessie was a longtime member of the Frazier Baptist Church, a charter member of the No. 5 Extension Club and was active in the Frazier community 4 -H Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband on January 8, 1972, a daughter Joan Walker, a grandchild, and a brother, Norman Giddens.
She is survived by one son, Delbert Amos and a daughter, Juanita Routh, both of Agency, Missouri, six grandchildren, Gene, Cindy, Kenny, Roger, Yvonne and De Ann, five great-grandchildren, Janelle, Jason, Skyer, Chris and Chad, one brother, Clyde Giddens, several nieces and nephews, to hr relatives and many friends.

Golden Wedding Anniversary

Mr. And Mrs. Jake Amos, Agency, Missouri, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary at open house for relatives and friends Sunday, August 30 at their home from 2 to 5.
Mr. And Mrs. Amos were married August 24, 1920 in St. Joseph. Since then, they have lived in the Frazier Community where Mr. Amos was engaged in farming, Mrs. Amos is the former Bessie Giddens.
Mr. And Mrs. Amos have two children living, Delbert Gene and Mrs. Juanita Routh, and one daughter, Mrs. Joan Walker, deceased. There are six grandchildren..
