ALBERT "PAT" ALF 1919-1994
Mr. Alf died Aug. 28 in his McMinnville home. He was 75.
He was born April 2, 1919, in Everett, Wash., the son of Albert and Alma Martin Alf. He was raised and schooled in Everett.
He served in the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific during World War II and in Korea. After the war, he moved to Eugene.
He was married to Grace Slonecker on July 12, 1953, in Eugene.
He moved to McMinnville in 1962 and purchased Belveal's Ice Cream shop, which became Alf's Ice Cream and Restaurant. He retired in 1984.
Mr. Alf was a member of the American Legion and of Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife; a son, William Hale of West Linn; two daughters, Eleanor Sebree of Eugene and Laura Compton of Petersburg, Ark.; a sister, Marie Asplund of Florence; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a step-father, Joe Little of Little Rock, Ark. He was preceded in death by a son, James H. Hale in 1960.
