My great-great grandfather.
John was a son born to farmer, Philip Barger, and his wife, Elizabeth Strong.
Loving husband of Julia Ann Byrd.
On Saturday, March 6, 1880, three months prior to the 1880 census, John passed away and left Julia Ann to care for and raise their eight (of ten) children, the same day their youngest child turned three months old. The children missing in the census were their newborn twins who died two months after their birth.
John and Julia's children were Oliver Morton, Esta Ann, Isaac Franklin (my great-grandfather), Oscar Elbert, Lewis C., Daisy Elizabeth, twin babies J.A. and sister Marion, Mary Edith and John Roscoe Barger.
