"Mrs. A.N. Adams Dies Last Night"
Mrs. A.N. Adms, resident of Prairie creek for many years, passed away at her home there last night from heart trouble. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 o'clock at her home on Prairie creek.
Mrs. Adams had been ill for about two months before her death, but had not become critically ill until about two weeks ago. Her daughter, Mrs. Frank Vaughan of Corning, Cal., had been sent for but did not arrive before her death. She is expected to be here tomorrow.

"Mrs. A. Adams Lived Here Many Years"
Mrs. Mary Adams, whose maiden name was Mary Margaret Bickel, was born at Lake Mills, Portage county, Wisconsin, April 12, 1855. She died at her home on Prairie creek, Jan. 28, 1931, at the age of 75 years, nine months and sixteen days.
She was united in marrige to Arba N. Adams in Wisconsin, Nov. 7, 1869. To this union was born two children, Mrs. Frank Vaughan of Corning, Cal., and Mrs. Roxy C. Hope, who preceded her in death several years.
Her husband was called to the great beyond six years ago. Mrs. Adams and her husband came to Oregon in 1876 and settled on Prairie creek on the place where she was living at the time of her death.f
The family lived on the Imnaha for a number of years, then came back to Prairie creek. As they were getting along in years, they decided to got to California. They did not stay there long, but came back to the creek and lived the remainder of the time there, with the exception of Mrs. Adams spending a few years in the Willamette valley, where she went with her granddaughter, Miss Norma Hope, who was teaching school near Eugene.
She leaves in this parting, one daughter, Mrs. Minnie Vaughan of Corning, Cal.; four grandchildren, Norma Esther (Adams)Hope of Joseph; Mrs. Earl Gowing of Loraine, Oregon; Ione Dodson of Ellensburg, Wash. and Floyd Vaughan of Willows, Cal. and fifteen great grandchildren.
She also leaves one brother, John W. Bichel of Chicago, Ill. and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Howard of Gilroy, Cal. There are several nieces, one of whom is Mrs. Albert Morgan of Imnaha, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at her home Saturday, Jan. 31, and interment was in Prairie creek cemetery. A large crows was present to mourn her parting and the floral offerings were beautiful.
Mrs. Adams was a member of the Rebekah lodge for about twenty-five years.
Funeral services were held by Rev. S.E. Smutz of Joseph, assisted by members of the Methodist choir. The songs sung were: No Night There and Shall We Gather at the River. Mrs. Smutz sang a sole, One Sweet Solemn Thought.
Pall bearers were Elmer and Frank Roup, J. Fred McClain, Ben Meek, Fred Gorsline and Hugh Estes.
