Timmy was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in States-ville, where he was involved in every facet of the youth of Calvary Baptist. His involvement with Relay for Life in Iredell County spanned the past six years. He was one of its chief supporters and was active in Relay's many community awareness events. An avid North Carolina Tarheel basketball fan, he had grown a loving relationship with Coach Roy Williams, who took a great interest in Timmy's life. Timmy had wanted to learn to fly and was granted that wish many times over as he took the controls to take off and sail the skies. He did not fly solo until Friday morning, July 8, 2011, when he flew nonstop to heaven. He was preceded by his maternal great-grand-parents, Virgil and Kathrine Emery; his paternal great-grand-parents, Lee and Lillian Baughman Williams; his maternal great-great-grandparents, Robert and Ruth Weatherman and paternal great-grandparents, Harold and Luvella Belcher, and his long-time friend Adam Braddy.
