Sam M. Allison, 89, passed away Dec. 29, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Madden (Bill). He leaves his wife of 72 years, Ruth Allison of Sarah, MS.; daughters; Joyce Randall (Marvin) of Birmingham, AL., Diane Britt (Boyer) of Indianola, MS, Ellen Anderson (Bill) of Houston, TX.; Sons; Marty Allison (Mary) and James Allison (Judy) both of Sarah, MS.; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Since 1978 Mr. Allison served as a member of the Northwest Mississippi Community College Board of Trustees. He also served on the Tate County Soil and Water Conservation Board, Yazoo Mississippi Delta Water District Board, and the Tate County Selective Service Board. He was a charter member of the Crenshaw Lions Club. He was a member of the Crenshaw United Methodist Church, and served on the Mississippi United Methodist Foundation Board for 25 years.
