Stricken with Paralysis
Mr. L. W. Ackley had a severe stroke of paralysis Wednesday evening of last week. He was in his barn at the time, where he had been milking, and having been gone longer than usual, Mrs. Ackley sent her girl to the barn, who found Mr. Ackley lying on the floor. Two gentelmen, who happened to be passing at the moment, were called and Mr. Ackley was assisted into the house and was for a while, unable to speak and unconcious. He rallied the next day sufficient to articulate and make known his wants and his attending physician, Dr. Hawley, thought he was slowly improving, but last evening the Doctor gave but little hope for his recovery.
Later - Mr. Ackley died at one o'clock this Wednesday morning. Deceased was an old resident of Painesville, and for many years carried on the jewelry businesss, retiring a number of years since on account of ill health. He was always prompt and reliable in his business transactions and enjoyed the highest respect and esteem of all who knew him. His age was 75. Funeral will be attended Friday at 2 o'clock.
