Steve Bryan

The funeral for Steve Bryan, 31, of Sixth Street, was Saturday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed & Jewell Chapel, with the Rev. Ed Furnas officiating.

We had a chance to talk with Stephen's adopted dad and found out that Stephen died of a very rare form of bone cancer. It's called: Alveolar Soft Ports Sorcoma. To find out about this cancer please go here:
He was put on massive amounts of a steroid and chemo and other meds to try and kill off the cancer. The steroid caused Stephen to swell up really bad. He was determined to do all that he could to try and win the battle.

Decadron is the name of the steroid that we believe eventually & inevitably took him.

As bitter sweet as it is...Steve chose to "pick his poison." While the steroid kept fluids from the tumors off his brain & lungs & allowed him 2 function & maintain quality of was eating his bone mass & muscle tissues.

We know that now Stephen is totally healed and out of pain, celebrating with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior in Heaven. We are looking forward to the day that we get to spend an eternity with Stephen in Heaven.

Stephen would be very proud with how his daughters have turned out. They are both beautiful very well behaved girls and we're pleased to call them our Granddaughters. Shelby and Kerri are our 2 oldest Granddaughters and we love them as much as we do the other 5 Granddaughters and 1 Grandson that God has given us.

On November 28, 2011 Stephen became a Grandpa to an adorable granddaughter named Ryleigh. Shelby is doing a good job raising her.

Wishing every day that I had the chance to know you. It doesn't diminish the love that I have for you as my brother, though.
