Obituary: M. Mildred Allen, 99, of the Village of Westerville Nursing Center, formerly of Crooksville, died at 4:45 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at the OSU Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born May 7, 1901, in Crooksville, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crooksville, where she served as an organist and pianist. She was a member of the Church Sunday School Class, Jane Addams Mothers Club and Federated Music Club.
Surviving are six daughters, Janis Daft of Titusville, Fla., Allene Snoderly of Scarborough, Maine, Lela Wade Tata of Huston, Texas, Sharon James of Glenville, W.Va., Linda Lemity of Columbus and Connie Helmer of Columbus; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melford C. Allen, who died Oct. 28, 1981; her parents, William D. and Electa Wanee French; three sisters, her twin, Marie Johnson, Ada Coleman and Pearl Pinnick. She was the last of four children.
Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with Richard O. Rothenich officiating. Burial will be in Crooksville Cemetery.
