Ralph Hall
Birth: Jul. 30, 1894
Ogden
Weber County
Utah, USA
Death: Oct. 5, 1918
Liverpool, England

Ralph served in the U.S. Army in World War I and fell victim to the influenza pandemic, which killed more people than did hostile action. He came down with the flu aboard his troop ship, which was docked in Liverpool, England and died in hospital ashore, presumably in Liverpool. He left behind his widow and two young children. He was buried immediately in England, but his body was later moved to the Ogden City Cemetery, Plat 2B-8-27-1W, GPS N41.23491 W111.96351.

Birth date on the headstone is wrong: He was born July 30, 1894. He is my great uncle, the son of Henry C. Hall and Mary Ann Woodcox and brother of my grandfather Howard Hall. Howard was in Army training in Fort Lewis, Washington. He wrote: "They brought word to me that Ralph had died, and I felt bad about it you know; I wanted to mourn his death. Told them about it. Nothing doing; I had to go out and drill, just the same as nothing happened."
