Max Archerd, an 81 year old native of Lebanon, I. T., died Thursday night following an extended period of ill health.
Funeral services for Mr. Archerd will be conducted at 10 a. m. today (Thursday) from Watts Memorial Chapel. His grandson, Rev. Paul Bowles, will officiate for the services. JoAnn Robertson will have charge of singing with Johnnie Ruth Jacks as organist.
Mr. Archerd was born September 25, 1893, in Lebanon. He was reared and lived his entire life in Madill. He worked with Warren Petroleum, retiring from the company several years ago.
He was married to Grace Maud Edgar August 4, 1912. Mrs. Archerd died July 25, 1963.
His survivors include a son, Max Archerd, Jr., of Hawkins, Texas; a daughter, Mary Lois Bowles, of Shawnee, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Burial will be in Woodberry-Forest Cemetery. Casket escorts for services and the interment will be Lee Alsup, Jim Ewing, George Ford, Jerry Garon, Jake Mapp, Vernon Maxwell, Dick Perryman and Bruce Yow.
