Frank, born in Steubenville, Ohio, was the son of Gustave C. Doliwa/Dollivar (1892-?) and Teofila "Tillie" Dziundziak (1898-1962). He enlisted in 1943 and was a decorated World War II veteran, having served as an Infantry Combat Engineer in the US Army with General Patton's Third Army. He fought in and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. He worked for the Ford Motor Co. in Detroit and with Stanley Aviation in Buffalo & Denver. In Erie he worked for Kerner Tool & Die twenty plus years, retiring in 1980.
He married Rose Marie Battaglia (1916-1987) after the war (about 1949), and they raised four children: Mary Frances Dollivar Sheldon, Patricia Ann Dollivar Firster, Beverly Ann Dollivar McClinton, and Frank A. Dollivar. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Jackie, Diana, Calvin, Matt, and Emily; four great-grandchildren, Alex, Keon, Sam, and Lilyan; and many nieces and nephews, including Dorothy Dollivar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Rose Battaglia Dollivar; three brothers, Edward, Chester, and Louis Dollivar; and three sisters, Gladys Dollivar, Steffany Gawlinski, and Adeline Fayak.
Frank liked to tell family and friends to "take life one day at a time." We will, Frank, we will.
