College Basketball Coach. He served as head coach of the La Roche University Men's Basketball Team, from 1997 until his death. A star player at Mars High School (Pennsylvania), he achieved all-selection three-times. He played collegiate basketball at Butler Community College, and transferred to Clarion University, before beginning his coaching career as an assistant at La Roche in 1993. Lang was promoted in 1997 at the age of 27, becoming the youngest NCAA men's head basketball coach in the nation. He guided the Redhawks to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship game in his second season as coach, and led them to capturing their first conference championship title in the school's history in 2004. Lang suffered a fatal heart attack at age 41, during a team practice. At the time of his death, he held La Roche's school records for most wins (150) and highest winning percentage.
