Major League Baseball Player. A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, he was a pitcher for two seasons (1969 to 1970) with the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox. During his high school years, he displayed versatile athletic skills excelling at both baseball and football. A star player in the Pacific Coast League during the 1960s, Crider made his big league debut on May 21, 1969. In 53 MLB games, he won 5 and lost 7 with a 4.51 lifetime ERA. After retiring from baseball, Crider became an accomplished hunter and fisherman. He was inducted into the South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame. (bio by: C.S.)
