Ida Mae Christine Adamson, 78, of New Plymouth passed away Friday, at West Valley Medical Center, Caldwell. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, New Plymouth. Pastor Phil Pittman will officiate. Burial will follow at Lower Boise Cemetery, Parma. A viewing for family and friends will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Monday at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Condolences may be made to the family at Ida was born Jan. 15 1929 at Caldwell, the daughter of Chris and Mary Cochran. She grew up in Notus. She married Ira Roger Adamson at Notus on Feb. I, 1948. They made their first home in Hines, Ore. where she was a homemaker. The family moved to Emmett in 1959 where Ira and Ida farmed together and she milked those darned cows. In 1967, they moved to a farm outside New Plymouth. Four years later they sold the cows and started row crop farming. They retired from farming in 1990 and moved into New Plymouth, where she resided until her death. Ida was a member of the First Baptist Church, New Plymouth, where she had served as a Deaconess for several years. She was also a member of the New Plymouth Senior Citizens where she had served on the Board of Trustees. Ida enjoyed reading, knitting and cross-stitch and playing cards with a special group of ladies. She thoroughly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; especially Fridays, when Noah and Nolan came over for lunch at Gamma's. She is survived by her son, Gary and Annie Adamson of Parma, her daughter Nancy and Ed Hollaway of New Plymouth; a brother Bill Cochran of Hermiston, Ore.; a beloved sister-in-law Velma Withers of Payette; two grandchildren, Chris and Carrie Hollaway and daughters Lauren and Jessica of Fruitland and Jenny and Steve Vantrease and sons Noah and Nolan of New Plymouth; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Ira, her parents, and her sister Mary Lou Ashcraft. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of New Plymouth Building Fund or the New Plymouth Senior Citizens Center, in care of, Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, PO Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
