William J. Adams, 91, of Nichols Home, Edgewood, Md., died Dec. 25, 2002, in the home.
Born July 9, 1911, in Bangor, Maine, he was a son of the late Harold F. and Theodora Adams.
Mr. Adams was a conductor for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 40 years.
He and Dorothy L. Adams were married in 1936. Mrs. Adams died in 1995.
Mr. Adams enjoyed reading and gardening.
Surviving are a son, William G. (husband of Drew) of Fayetteville, Pa.; two granddaughters, Kelly Adams-Hornby of Taneytown, Md., and Lee Adams-Kuhn of Falling Waters, W.Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Will Hornby and Kayla Hornby, both of Taneytown.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest.
A memorial service will be at noon Sunday in Otterbein United Methodist Church, 61 W. Main St., Fayetteville.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
