Etoyle Eva Terry Nelson, the daughter of John S. Terry and Katie Leatherwood Terry was born on October 29, 1914 in Courtland, Alabama. She past away on May 10, 2000 at the Briarwood Nursing Home in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 85 years 6 months and 11 days.

She married George Nelson in Sylacuaga, Alabama in 1945. They moved to Mt.Hope Kansas in 1948 and later to Udall, Kansas in 1950. After being a victim of the Udall tornado in 1955, they move to Oxford. George died on January 1, 1959.

Etoyle had worked at the Oxford Post Office and the school system as well being a seamstress. She had been a member of the First Methodist Church in Oxford.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, infant daughter Mary Cecilea Nelson: one brother, Clinton Terry: one sister, Ella Lou Coffey.

Survivors include four sons, Daniel F. Nichols of Somerdale, New Jersey, Donald Nelson of Wichita, Kansas, Neal Nelson of Carmichael, Penn. and Robert Nelson, Oklahoma: one daughter, Shirley Nichols Spencer of Mc Pherson, Kansas: one half-brother, John S. Terry Jr of Marietta, Ga.: two half-sisters, Catherine Penton of Childersburg, Alabama and Beauford Feske of Baton Rough, Louisiana, 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The Casketbearers were six of her grandsons: Arlan Spencer, Daniel Spencer, Gary Spencer, Shawn Nelson, Raymond Nelson and Steve Nelson.
