Lela was born to David S. and Audrey Mills Huey. She married Carl Johnson in February of 1937. He preceded her in death in 1981. She later married Vernon Gibb in April of 1993. He preceded her in death in October of 1999.
She also was preceded by one brother, Stanley, and one sister, Elma.
Surviving are four children, Bill (Shirley) Johnson of Smithville, Sam (Judi) Johnson of Peoria, Carl (Jan) Johnson of Elmwood and Judy (Charlie) McLaughlin of Ozark, Ark.; two stepsons, Daniel (Karla) Gibb and Kenneth Gibb, both of Franklin, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Rose Toben of Farmington, Adella (Dick) Johnson of Gainesville, Va., and Inez Gwaltney of Magnolia, Texas.
She was a member of El Vista Baptist Church and was active in many church activities.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
