JOHNSBURG - Lester E. Allen, 64, of Garnet Lake Road, died Saturday (March 22, 1986) at the Albany Medical Center Hospital after a long illness.

Born Feb. 6, 1922, he was the son of the late George and Cora Millington Allen.

Mr. Allen lived his entire life in Johnsburg and was employed by the Lead Co. of Tahawus for 26 years until his retirement in 1977. He was a World War II Army Veteran and attended the Bakers Mills Wesleyan church. He was an avid out-doors man.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Rose Dalabe Allen; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Angela) Noel, Mrs. Eugene (Pamela) Mulligan and Mrs. Roger (Carol) Lewis, all of Rome; five sons, Rev. L. Duaine Allen of Cambridge, Rev. Ronald N. Allen of Johnsburg, Timothy F. Allen of Glens Falls, Kenneth E. Allen of Granville, and Roy M. Allen of Glens Falls; a sister, Mrs. Cecile (Mary) Robbins of Adirondack; seven brothers, Harold Allen of Bakers Mills, Arnold Allen, Gerald Allen, Lee Allen and George Allen of Johnsburg, Francis Allen of Prattsville, and Keith Allen of North Creek; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bakers Mills Wesleyan Church Rev. Robert Tice, pastor of the church and Rev. Robert Finley and Rev. Gilbert Clemens, former pastors, will officiate. Spring burial will be in Mill Creek Wesleyan Cemetery. Bearers: Sterling Allen, Michael Baker, Timothy Allen, Norman Benoit, Leon Dalaba, Jeffery Allen, Joseph Allen and Harvey Robbins.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bakers Mills Wesleyan Church Annex.
