ADAMS, ROBERT E. (BOB) - age 76 of West Knoxville, United States Air Force, retired, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009. He was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. Bob, who was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Air Force Sgt. Association. He was owner of Bob's Appliance Repair, and member of the Modern Woodsmen of America. Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Dovie Blackburn Adams; great-grandson Cooper B. Ogle; parents Perry A. and Helen Garber Adams; brother, William Paul Adams; He is survived by his loving family: wife, Elizabeth C. Jones Adams; daughters and sons in law, Nancy and Stephen Sartin, Diane and Bobby Whitaker, Donna and Rick Cooper, Janice and Chris Watkin, Kim and Tracy Roberts; son and daughter in law, Ron and Judy Jones; grandchildren, David, Adam, Christy, Sarah, Bobby Jr., Stacy, Laura, Emily, Grady, Megan, Bryce, Cade, Casey, Cayla, and Jennifer; great granddaughter, Gracie; sisters and brother in law, Ruth and Jim Reed, Grace Hartzog, Mary Nelle and Junior Schean, Jean and Henry Weber; numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends. The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with Rev. John Thomerson and Rev. Chip Maye officiating. Interment to follow at Rocky Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors presented by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. The family requests that memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 24, 2600 Holbrook Dr. Knoxville, TN 37918. The family will receive friends 5-7:00 P.M.
