St. Clair County
Believed to be born about 1794, Chief Agosa was given the name Addison Potts after his conversion to Christianity. Chief Agosa followed Rev. Dougherty from Old Mission in Grand Traverse County to the New Mission (now Omena) in Leelanau County in 1852. The place where he established his home became the Indian village of Agosatown.
