Emily was the daughter of Elias Cook. On April 29, 1866, she married Lyman Allen and they moved to Chateaugay, NY, where they farmed. They had 4 daughters, Elizabeth M. (Jones), Lillie (Patnode), Cora L. (Dodge), and Anna A. Allen (born 1876, died 1877).
