Elmer D. Sholl, 80, of 1692 Bateman St. Galesburg IL died 8:30 AM Thursday December 9, 2004 at his home. He was born November 30, 1924 in Abingdon IL the son of Arthur and Beulah Trout Sholl. He married Margaret Scott. He later married Shirley Thurman in Galesburg IL on June 17, 1978. She survives. Also surviving are two sons Calvin (husband Margo) Sholl of Galesburg IL and Forrest Thurman of Dallas TX, one daughter Cynthia Young of Las Vegas, NV, three sisters Betty Bledsoe of Galesburg IL, Barbara (husband Stanley) Lattimer of Galesburg IL and Mary Mills of Galesburg IL, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and five sisters. He served in the Navy during World War II for 3 ½ years. He worked as a salesman for Roger Brothers for 52 years retiring in 1998. He lived in Galesburg his entire life. He was a member of the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285, a member of the VFW #2257, and a past member of the Keithsburg Boat Club. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:30 PM Monday, December 13, 2004 in East Linwood Cemetery with Military Rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. The Rev. Ron Scarlett will officiate. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. (http://www.h-p-w.com)
