Martha Clementine Deloach was the daughter of William Floyd Deloach and Lutilda Sentell. She was born in South Carolina, and later moved with her family to Shelby County, Alabama. Martha Clementine Deloach was still unmarried and living with her parents in Alabama when the 1870 Census was taken. She later went to Texas, probably to stay with her sister and brother-in-law, Salome Deloach Jones and George W. Jones. Martha Clementine Deloach married James Hill Verner on November 15, 1873 in Delta County, Texas. They were the parents of four children - Isalena Verner Reddell, Mattison P. Verner, Ida Mae Verner Roberts, and Albert Fletcher Verner.
