Mrs. Carl Blessing, 73, of 504 South East Third street, died at 11:10 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital from cancer.
She had been a patient at the hospital five weeks and was previously hospitalized both here and in St. Louis.
Mrs. Blessing had been a Fairfield resident six years. The greater part of her life was spent on a farm north of Fairfield.
Rites Held Sunday
Funeral services were conducted from the Dixon & Johnson chapel Sunday afternoon with Rev. Robert A. Krause officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill cemetery.
Bernice Irene, daughter of Francis and Nancy Witter Brown, was born near Geff July 30th 1893.
She was married to Carl Blessing on March 12th 1914, with two children born to their union.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Clifford, of Tulsa, Okla; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Dorothy) Brooker, of Geff; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one brother, John Brown, of Mason City.
