Rosalie Annette (Davis) McDonough, of Hewitt Road, Mystic, passed away Sunday morning at Mystic Manor.

She was born on July 6, 1923 in Danforth, Maine the daughter of Raymond and Cynthia Davis. She was the last member of her family of six.


Rosalie worked at the Bath Shipyard during World War II as a riveter, and many years as a New York telephone operator. She later was employed for over 20 years at CBT Bank in Groton before retiring.


A longtime resident of Mystic, she was a communicant of St. Patrick Church and was a member of the St. Mary Frances Circle, Daughter's of Isabella.


She was married to her loving husband, Francis Edward McDonough at St. Rose of lima Church in Brooklyn, NY on September 22, 1942. They were married for 45 years before Mr. McDonough passed away in 1987.


Rosalie is survived by two daughters, Lucy McDonough Dunklebarger and husband, Raymond Dunklebarger of Florence, AZ and Mary L. Card and husband, Robert Card of Ledyard, CT; 7 grandchildren, William Belle, Holly Card Osella, Heather Card, Cindy Hall, Cheryl McHan, Reason Dunklebarger and Raymond Dunklebarger, Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren, William Card, Lillie Bell, Amy Osella, David Hall, Miranda James, Vanessa Hall, Tristan Hall, Chandler McHan, Cody McHan, and Ricky James "R.J." McHan;

and 2 great great grandchildren Declan and Rayner Hall.


Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 5-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, East Main Street, Mystic on Friday at 10am by Fr. Brian Romanowski, Pastor. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation in her memory may be made to the Chariho-Westerly Animal Welfare League, P.O. Box 1237, Westerly, RI 02832 or American Cancer Society, 106 Franklin Commons, Rte. 32, Franklin CT 06254.
